LINKS began work in Turkey this year with a major project continuing LINKS long standing experience of working with Parliaments in EU Neighbourhood countries.
LINKS is working in partnership with the Turkish Parliament on Turkey’s EU accession negotiations, mapping out the work that requires to be undertaken to allow the Parliament to play a key role in the negotiation process, and assisting the undertaking of that work.
LINKS will work with the Committee on European Integration of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (Parliament) and our local partner, the Turkish Democracy Foundation, to implement this project over the next two years. The project is supported by the Global Opportunities Fund of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the UK.

As part of its partnership project with the Turkish Parliament on European integration and harmonisation, LINKS working with the Turkish Democracy Foundation, recently launched a new monthly publication in Turkish aimed primarily at Turkish MPs and Turkish elected regional officials. Yeni Yıldız (New Star) aims to provide clear and concise information that will help busy Turkish politicians to keep abreast of developments in Turkey’s EU accession negotiations, as well as in the European Union itself.
