Much of LINKS current work in Armenia takes place within a partnership formed with two other organisations to work on the Nargony Karabakh conflict called the Consortium Initiative. The Consortium Initiative is a coalition of international non-governmental organisations established to address the conflict between Armenians and Azerbaijanis over Nagorny Karabakh. It seeks to put this conflict into a regional framework, locating it in the wider dynamic of the South Caucasus. The Consortium Initiative is now in its fourth year of work and the project is divided into four strands of work which act to complement each other. LINKS contribution is to undertake the work of the political strand in the project, the other strands being media, civil society and conflict sensitivity.
For more information about the Consortium Initiative please visit its website at www.consortium-initiative.org/.
LINKS is the facilitator of the South Caucasus Parliamentary Initiative (SCPI), which is a framework for dialogue, exchange of views and joint analysis between the Parliaments of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, established on the basis of a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the three Parliaments in Tbilisi on 13 May 2003. The work of SCPI is funded through the Consortium Initiative (described above).
