LINKS hosted a one day seminar with MP's and staff of the parliament of north Cyprus on the work of parliamentary committees. This emphasised the value of Select Committees as a key element of scrutiny by the legislative over the executive parts of government. The seminar held within the framework of a project implemented with the Parliament of north Cyprus focussed particularly on the role of the public accounts committee in such a system.
Craig Allardice, LINKS Representative to the European Institutions and guest Nicholas Jones, former BBC Political and Parliamentary Correspondent were the speakers at the seminar, which was also attended by officials of the British High Commission in Nicosia.
