LINKS has appointed its first Country Director for Moldova. He is George Simonishvili the current Director of Caucasus Links. Catherine Smith, LINKS programme co-ordinator introduced the new country director to partner organizations in Chisinau. He will take up his post in mid November. A spokesman for LINKS in London said that the appointment of a country Director in Moldova indicates LINKS increased commitment to this country, which is a programme priority country in the 2004-7 work plan.
