LINKS spokesperson comments on the end of the Consortium Initiative project

LINKS Deputy Director for Administration and outreach today commented on the end of the Consortium Initiative project. Mr MacDonald said that LINKS was delighted to have been able to work with the other two partners International Alert and Conciliation Resources to implement the Consortium initiative project over the last four years and to be able to make a contribution to the Nagorno Karabakh peace process. He thanked particularly International Alert who were the lead partner in the project and Conciliation Resources who provided the Chair of the Executive Steering Committee for their efforts in making both the project and the partnership a success. He also thanked wholeheartedly all the individuals and organisations in Armenia and Azerbaijan who contributed to the process.

Mr MacDonald said that LINKS was, as the rest of the international community, disappointed that the negotiations that have been ongoing in the framework of the Minsk Process had not yet reached success. However it was the duty of non governmental organisations such as LINKS to continue supporting these efforts. LINKS, International Alert and Conciliation Resources are currently discussing how to continue their co-operation in the framework of the Consortium Initiative beyond the project that came to an end this week.
