LINKS 1997-2007
10th anniversary will be an opportunity to celebrate and to outline a new strategy for the next decade
LINKS is this year celebrating its 10th anniversary. LINKS has over a decade developed from a modest start built on a wish to contribute to a better future for nations that were seeking for resolution of deep-rooted conflicts and a desire for democratic and accountable governments. By choice the organisation remains small and focused but is today a respected partner, working with governments, parliaments, civil society and business in Europe, the Caucasus-Caspian Region and the Middle East.
To help put the last decade in context links-london.org will from the beginning of September be serialising an interview with Dennis Sammut, LINKS Executive Director for the last decade. The interview will focus on some of the issues that LINKS has worked on in the last decade and will provide interesting insights on events and personalities that have been part of the LINKS story.

To mark the 10th anniversary of LINKS, and help us launch our strategy for the next decade we will be organising a series of events from September to December, many as part of LINKS wider projects.
- On 22-23 September LINKS hosted on behalf of the Secretariat of the Caucasus Caspian Commission a high profile seminar “Realising the full potential of the Caucasus Caspian Region”. The event was held at the Oxford University Said Business School in Oxford.
- September also marked the end of a four year project to support the process of peace in Nagorny Karabakh implemented by the Consortium Initiative – collaborative framework where LINKS worked with two key partners, International Alert and Conciliation Resources. Many representatives of Consortium Initiative partners in the region joined us in London 24-28 September for a series of events, including a key conference on 24th September at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London and a reception being hosted by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office on 25th September.
- The Annual General Meeting and 10th anniversary reception was be held in London on 24th September.
- More activities are planned in the Caucasus Region, in Turkey and in Brussels between now and the end of the year.
